V4 countries for the sustainable and innovative recovery of Ukraine

The 2nd module will be held offline between 27-29 October, 2023 in Uzhhorod city, Zakarpattia region, Ukraine. There are two reasons for choosing the place: firstly, during the war Ukrainian men not easily can cross the border, so in this case, they will not need to leave the country and the second reason is that Zakarpattia region is the safest place in Ukraine and it is near to the UA-HU and UA-SK border. The following topics will be discussed: economic development, communication with international business representatives, building up an anti-corruption system, and policy setting on a municipal level. Except experts from V4 countries, there will be Ukrainian speakers involved in this event as well who will address local challenges related to corruption and prevention strategies. The participants will learn about good practices creating a transparent corruption free environment to attract international investors. Participants will be encouraged to spread the acquired knowledge within their communities by making meetings with colleagues, posting on social media or sharing dedicated articles through local newspapers and magazines (follow up activity). https://www.facebook.com/v4orua/

Conference of Ethics in Documentary Film

We will organise as part of the Visegrad Accelerator the Conference on Ethics in Documentary Film – an innovative platform for discussion on ethical questions related to the production and reception of documentary films. This important debate is practically missing in Central Europe. The conference will offer a space for a discussion on topics connecting experts from V4 countries. We see a special contribution of this joint discussion in the fact that it will allow us to map the most important ethical issues of handling archival or taken material (from private and public archives, news reports, home videos, photographs, or news or social networks) on the surface of historical events that will be familiar to all participants of the discussion from V4 countries, yet will differ in their interpretation. The aim is to open space for dialogue among the academic community, filmmakers and film industry, and map the most relevant ethical topics and questions in the field. https://www.ji-hlava.com/etika
