Trainings Part II
Depending on the weather conditions, the training will be carried out in the Svaneti or Kazbegi regions. 12 people who have been recruited will be trained by Mountain Rescuers Instructors from Horská Služba Jizerské Hory. Trainers will conduct trainings, based on exercises, on the following subjects: first: equipment training and preparation for transporting the injured party with the prevention components against coronavirus techniques and second part: topography and cartography The training will fully allow the transfer of much needed knowledge. Training will be supported by first Georgian Mountain Rescue Instructors that achieved instruction level on January 2020. Two persons will assist to share their knowledge and experience, and also to learn how to teach further MR groups and make another step to sustain MR Georgia. Detailed plan of training topics, 44 hours: 30h: •Rescue operation simulation containing elements: transporting the injured person in various planes, transport of the injured person in a limitation, climbing with lower belaying (area V min), self-rescue; Using the map and compass • Walking on the azimuth • Understanding the types of maps and their specificity • Basics of tourist service of GPS receivers • Using Waypoints, traces, vector maps on GPS receivers • Types of cartographic data as well as the methods of their collection and processing • Mobile applications for navigation • Creating your own traces (in various formats) based on satellite images, topographic and tourist maps, and their use in the field
