Chamber Concert

The chamber music programme will include carefully selected works by Witold Lutosławski and Bela Bartok, in consultation with project partners and lecturers. These composers are musical showcases of the Visegrad Group countries, however, they rarely appear in academic education programmes, which means that young musicians do not have the opportunity to learn about their work and find common cultural heritage. The concert will be a montage of individually recorded parts sent by musicians. It will be broadcasted on the Philharmonic's channels (facebook, youtube), and the content will be available to watch after the premiere. https://ilyo.filharmonia.szczecin.pl/

Symphonic Concert

The symphonic concert crowning the project is scheduled for Sunday 30th August to mark the 40th anniversary of the Szczecin Agreements, which ended the wave of strikes and initiated the workers' movement in the People's Republic of Poland and the birth of "Solidarity". These events were an impulse for systemic changes, which ultimately led to the collapse of the Polish People's Republic and other countries of popular democracy from the Eastern Bloc. Beethoven's 9th Symphony will be performed by project participants, as well as choirs from V4 countries and soloists. The performed piece is important not only because of its role in the history of music - it is one of the most important symphonies, with a clear, legible structure. The work is also symbolic in character - its final cantata is the official anthem of the European Union. The famous "Ode to Joy" expresses the European ideals of freedom, peace and solidarity, emphasizing the role of a community of experiences and international dialogue. https://ilyo.filharmonia.szczecin.pl/
