Our region´s bright future depends on how much we respect knowledge-based societies!

Today, a discussion about the support for and involvement of young researchers in activities of national science academies took place, within the Visegrad Group Academies Forum. Our Deputy Executive Director Marianna Neupauerová joined the Forum and introduced the possible ways for the Fund support to young researchers, not least within the Young Academies and the Science Academies of Hungary, Czechia, Poland, and Slovakia. Next to the new Visegrad Focus on Research, Development, Innovation, and Digitalization under the Fund’s Grant Schemes, other mobility schemes fit for young Visegrad researchers were introduced.

As she put it: “It is the mission of our Fund to support everyone who does not want to limit their living environment to their household/working place doorstep, not even to the closest border. We do offer a regional perspective, with the focus on the Central and Eastern Europe, Eastern Partnership and the Balkans”.

While there has been a regular exchange among the national Science Academies, we find particularly valuable the insights into youth involvement within the academia brought by Jacek Kolanowski, Chairman of the Polish Young Academy and Éva Dékány, Former Co-Chair of the Hungarian Young Academy.
