Visegrad fund has new Executive Director

The Executive Director and Hungarian Ambassador Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi handed over the management of the Visegrad fund to the Czech Ambassador Petr Mareš, whose three-year term in the fund begins on August 2, 2021. The team of the fund welcomed the new successor underneath a mural in Bratislava dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Visegrad Group.

“Despite the difficult conditions during the coronavirus pandemic, last year we managed to financially support more than 220 projects, 143 students and 60 artists. I wish my successor a lot of success and beautiful meetings with our grantees, for whom the fund has been here for more than 20 years. I would like to express my thanks to Marianna Neupauerová, the Deputy Director, and to the entire fund´s team of project managers. I will definitely continue to follow the work of the fund from Hungary, “says Edit Szilágyiné Bátorfi, the eighth executive director of the IVF.

“It is a great honor for me to be able to use my experience in diplomacy and foreign policy at the Visegrad fund. Support for regional cooperation between the V4 countries is more important during a pandemic than ever before, and this mandate will therefore be a challenge for me, which I am very much looking forward to” adds Petr Mareš.
