Farewell message from Maja Wawrzyk, Deputy Executive Director

As I come to the end of my three years at the Visegrad Fund, I do so with deep gratitude, both professionally and personally. When I arrived in Bratislava from Poland at the beginning of 2023, I could not have foreseen how quickly this city would become my home or how strongly working at the heart of the Visegrad region would shape my sense of the Fund’s mission.
These years have been a period of meaningful growth. Together with a dedicated and enthusiastic team, we strengthened the Fund’s operational foundations, modernized internal processes, and worked to ensure that our activities remain efficient, credible, and forward-looking. I am especially grateful for the team´s creativity and openness that allowed ideas to turn into lasting improvements.
The Fund’s progress is built on trust, cooperation, and the commitment of its team and  stakeholders. I am grateful to them for their engagement as well as to two inspirational directors Petr Mareš from Czechia and Linda Kapustová Helbichová from Slovakia for their great leadership.
My final year was particularly special as we marked the Fund’s 25th anniversary—an important moment to reflect on both our achievements and our shared responsibility for the future.

Thank you for the collaboration and shared experiences. I leave with gratitude and warm wishes for the Visegrad Fund.

Maja Wawrzyk
