Welcome Our New Intern Jan

This summer, the Visegrad Fund is pleased to welcome Ján Jakub Kolár to the team as our summer intern.

Ján is a Slovak student with a strong interest in European affairs and regional cooperation. With family roots connecting Slovakia and the Slovak community in Vojvodina, he sees Europe as a space where shared identities, cultures, and cross-border connections bring people together while preserving strong local traditions.

His academic focus includes European integration and enlargement, security and defence, and the role of identities, narratives, and public opinion in shaping political developments. During his studies in Malmö, he also developed an interest in the Nordic region and Arctic affairs.

Beyond his studies, Ján has gained experience through volunteering, human rights advocacy, think-tank activities, and youth diplomacy initiatives. In his free time, he enjoys following ice hockey and football, playing floorball, and reading political philosophy.

During his internship, Ján will support the Fund's communications and daily activities while gaining first-hand insight into the work of an international organisation promoting regional cooperation across Central Europe.

We are delighted to have Ján on board and wish him a rewarding and inspiring summer with the Visegrad Fund.
