Capacity Building Training Course for Local Green Activists and Local Media from Kvemo Kartli Region

As a result of the intensive training course local green activists from 7 municipalities of Kvemo Kartli region (including ethnic minorities and IDPs) will become more competitive and aware of environmental issues such as: air, water and soil pollution, natural resource depletion, waste disposal, urban sprawl, public health issues; They will evolve knowledge about sustainable development topics. Ecotourism principles will be explored as principle for sustainable economic development. Participants advocacy skills will be developed in order to successfully implement advocacy and monitoring campaigns on environmental issues and to advocate implementation of environmental objectives declared in Kvemo Kartli Regional development Strategy 2014–2021. The event will be a great opportunity for Green-minded people to acquire practical skills, such as negotiating and networking, and to learn how to impact national and European politics. Diverse interactive approaches will be used by trainers’s team. The training sessions will be enhanced with contribution from guest speakers. Experts from Czech Republic and Poland will share experience of their countries regarding environmental and sustainable development issues in their countries. The participants will act as multipliers and create a network of green volunteers at local level.
