Cosmic Rays for Teachers

The event aims at making the teachers familiar with the educational opportunities related to cosmic/ionizing radiation, with particular emphasis on CREDO. The program includes: short lectures about ionizing radiation and its detection, lecture about comsic rays; presentation of CVUT activities related to Radiation Monitoring Network for institutions and schools (it is related to another project of the Czech partner, with a relation to CREDO); demonstration of the detection of radiation and cosmic rays using CVUT equipment based on the Medipix pixel detector; presentation of the CREDO project and CREDO Detector application; discussion of future collaboration of teachers with CVUT and possibilities how to apply presented technologies in education.
