'Developing Waste Management Advocacy & Communication Strategy in Tourism Context’

The event aims to bring together representatives of local NGOs, media, tourism service providers, and local communities and provide tools of communication that enable them to understand existing challenges for implementing Municipal Waste Management Plans; to develop a tailored communication strategy and action plan for promoting integrated waste management system in Kvemo Kartli. The strategy addresses solving the main gaps identified in the research. The workshop enhances the partnership between the private sector, local government, and local society. The strategy framework will be based on three critical behaviors in the tourism context - waste management (collection, segregation, transportation, treatment, and final disposal) at the community level, at the touristic companies level, and the local municipality level. Hungarian and Slovakian experts will share their countries' experiences of waste management issues and relevant practices.
