Festival 2018

The core output of the planned project is a 3 day long gastrocultural festival in the city centre of Bratislava. The festival is expected to attract at least 30.000 visitors mainly from the V4 countries and Austria. During the 3 days of the festival circa 20 groups of performers and artists will perform at the V4 stage representing all V4 countries and their minorities. During the evening programmes it is planned to invite well known and popular bands and musical performers able to attract larger groups of visitors. In order to ensure a high quality festival a stateoftheart concert technology (light and sound technology) will be established allowing to enjoy a quality concert experience. Besides the musical and cultural performances the festival is expected to involve at least 15 exhibitioners promoting their culinary specialities and characteristic handicraft products representing also all V4 countries. Planned programme of the festival: June 8th, Friday: 15.00-20.00: Concert by popular bands and artists of the V4 region (Rómeó Vérzik, Budapest Klezmer Band) 20.00: Opening ceremony (opening speeches by ambassadors of V4 countries) 20.15: Concert by Illényi Katica (featuring musicians from all V4 countries, e.g.: Cappella Istropolitana); June 9th, Saturday (folklore day): 15.00: Performances of folk music and folk dance groups from CZ, HU, PL and SK, joint singing and joint dancing of the various folk groups. 16.00: Folk dance lessons aiming at the active involvement of the audience 18.00: Big beat concert (CZ) 20.00: Kerekes Band (folk-rock, HU); June 10th, Sunday: 16.00-20.00: Concert by popular bands and artists of the V4 region (e.g.: Middlemist Red, Bohém Ragtime Band) 20.00: Official closing ceremony 20.15: Jam session featuring performers of all V4 countries.
