Integrating Waste Management Systems in Tourism Sector for Sustainable Regional Development
The event aims to provide enterprises involved in tourism sector, civil society and media organizations with a comprehensive understanding of national legislation and international commitments on waste management systems; to introduce waste management services available and the advantages of waste minimization and recycling; to advance local communities advocacy skills in civic engagement mechanisms maintaining the implementation of municipal waste management plans and promoting sustainability standards and good practices that will maximize benefits of tourism while minimize negative impacts. Initiative Group of green volunteers will be established from event participants. Ukrainian and Czech experts will share good practices and experience on waste management issues in their countries. International experts will provide methodology that will be adapted by Georgian team, besides they will conduct online sessions during the event.
