Project
YOUng Power
The conference is dedicated to 50 people - the target group primarily includes representatives of local governments and municipalities (who can found social enterprises), national ministries, entrepreneurs, who can implement social entrepreneurship practices in their work and NGO workers. We will reach out to them directly by email and phone as well as by social media campaign. Candidates will be able to apply using an online form. The consortium strictly observes non-disrimination policies.
The conference will last for approximately 6 hours and consists of 4 slots:
1. Presentation of the project and the website
2. Social Entrepreneurship as a way to solve youth problems - Panel Discussion with one representative from the local municipality, one from central government, one from the NGO sectors and one young person. They will discuss the problems that young people face when it comes to employment and how these problems can be mitigated through social entrepreneurship.
3. How to establish a social enterprise? - This geographically tailored seminar will focus on the process of establishment of a social enterprise from the legal point of view. It will also address the changes, which need to be made when it comes to support from the government.
4. One workshop connected to the general part of the website, which will be selected by the partner organisation.
The conferences will be organised by the project partners. Each of them will be responsible for the planning and execution of the conference in the respective country, based on the strategy agreed upon by the project partners (i.e. the conferences will be similar in the content).
The aim of the conference is to disseminate the outcomes of the project on a local level. It helps to achieve the project idea by increasing the impact and awareness about social entrepreneurship amongst the NGOs and local municipalities. All stakeholders involved in the conference have a power to establish a social enterprise. Participants will have a space to network and exchange their experiences.
Profile of an alumni:
Application: Those who participate at the local conference will be provided with a basic overview of the social entrepreneurship, its benefits and possibilities for the application (implementation). More importantly, they will gain knowledge about the website, which will provide them with more elaborate information.
Local municipalities (cities, villages) and NGOs will now be able to found social enterprises/projects and thus help in solving problems of youth unemployment that many NEETs (Young people, who are not in education, employment or training) face. Government representatives taking part in this project will be more skilled when preparing further programmes for the development of social entrepreneurship in their countries. Entrepreneurs will be able to implement elements of social entrepreneurship into their work.
The exact date within the time span will be determined later.
