Main Programme and Closing Ceremony

The Main programme performances are major component of the festival Setkání/Encounter. The Organizational team invites theatre and art schools from all over the world (more than 300) to apply with their performances. It creates a platform for demonstrations of the widest range of theatre techniques and teaching methods. The closing ceremony includes the awarding of participants by the festival jury and the director of the festival. The festival is non-competitive but it gives away several awards. The awards do not serve to create a ranking of individual productions from the main programme of the festival. But through them the most inspirational and inventive artistic achievements of young theatre makers are highlighted. The Festival Jury, who hands the awards, is divided into half - the professional part and the student part. Both of them are set up by four members from Czech or foreign countries. There is expected to be about 3300 tickets sold in total.
