More than Neighbours Festival 2019

The core output of the planned project is a 4 day long gastrocultural festival in the city centre of Bratislava extended with a further programme (serving as day 0 of the festival). The festival is expected to attract at least 30.000 visitors mainly from the V4 countries and Austria. During the 4+1 days of the festival circa 20 groups of performers and artists will perform at the V4 stage representing all V4 countries and their minorities. During the evening programmes it is planned to invite well known and popular bands and musical performers able to attract larger groups of visitors. In order to ensure a high quality festival a stateoftheart concert technology (light and sound technology) will be established allowing to enjoy a quality concert experience. Besides the musical performances the festival is expected to involve at least 15 exhibitioners promoting their culinary specialities and characteristic handicraft products representing also all V4 countries. Planned programme of the festival: June 13th: classical concert in the St. Marin Dome by the Children’s Choir of the Hungarian Radio, who will be accompanied by a Slovak chamber orchestra and further soloists of PL, CZ and SK. June 20th 16.00-22.00: Concert by popular bands and artists of the V4 region (Last Blues Band, SK, Expired Passport, SK, Ivan and the Parazol HU); June 21st: 16.00-20.00: Concert by Bognar Szilvia & feat. an SK Band, 20.00: Opening ceremony (opening speeches by ambassadors of V4 countries) 20.15: Concert by Budapest Bar, HU; June 22nd 14.30: Coronation ceremony, 15:30-22.00: Performances of folk music and folk dance groups from CZ, HU, PL and SK, joint singing and joint dancing of the various folk groups (e.g.: Terchová-fujara, SK, Dresch Quartet feat V4 artists); June 23rd: 14.00-15.00: V4 Fashion show, 15.00-20:00 Concerts and jam session by popular bands and artists of the V4 region (e.g.: Samorin Folk Dance Group, SK, Napoleon Boulevard, HU) 20.00: Official closing ceremony. V4 book club: from June 20-23.
