National Training of Journalists

PIN CZ will prepare and realize the semester course "Journalist and minority topics—Media and migration" for students of journalism and media studies at Charles University in Prague (Faculty of Social Science). We managed to promote this course as an optional subject in the Charles University curriculum and thus open it to all students. The course will combine several teaching methods (lectures, interactive workshops with active involvement of students, discussions with invited experts, student´s work on own articles) and also involve new methodological approaches developed together with project partners. Pedagogically, the course will be led by the migration expert Tereza Freidingerová, but also academic experts on the given issues, experts from the non-profit sector and journalists experienced with migration and integration topics will be invited. Successful participants of the training will be preselected to take part in international training and media fieldtrip, which are also organised within this project. We will organise events at the journalism department, therefore there is no need for extra resources for rent of premises and similar (just expertise is needed).
