Opening Academic & Practical Workshop

Opening Academic & Practical Workshop will be the first (initial) crucial stage of the works on creating the catalogue of the good practices in the field of the creation of the urban policy system in the V4 states and, what is the key element, in Ukraine. The University of Wroclaw, UWr as well as The Masaryk University, MU will be the main workshop organizers. The researchers representing the applicant and the partners (at least 1 per each institution), as well as the invited practitioners, students and doctoral students (about 47) will be active workshop participants. In the first part of the workshop, both the applicant and the partners will present the initial versions of the chapters which will be published in the English-language book. Each proposal of a chapter, presented in a form of a paper, will be discussed in details and evaluated by the participants. In the second part of the workshop, the Round Table Debate will take place. Participants of the debate will be applicant, partners and practitioners from V4 states - representatives of local and regional institutions specialized in urban policy (municipalites and provincial offices) as well as representatives of NGOs. In the third part of the workshop, the Young Practitioners Forum will take place. Students and doctoral students from V4 states interested in contemporary urban policy will be the participants of the forum. They will learn how to create urban policy system and to cooperate with civil society. The whole workshop will be a public event, therefore not only the researchers representing the applicant and the partners, as well as the practitioners will be able to be its participants. It will be also open to all academics, interest groups, local and regional authorities and media.
