Smart and Green – On the Spot in Visegrad Cities
A one-day study trip will be organised to Wroclaw, one of the largest cities in Poland, where greenery is a very important element in the city's structure. Local authorities for several years have been organizing projects like "Grow green" or "Gray to green", which help transform greenery-free places to green spaces. The inhabitants themselves decide about the allocation of part of the city budget by voting. Very often they vote for park projects, and many of them already exist. In addition, Wrocław is the only city in Poland that has introduced tax reduction for residents of buildings that have green roofs or living walls. In order to reduce urban pollution, in 2017 the city council opened the first Polish rental of electric cars, designated special parking spaces and the ability to use the "buspass" (routes only for public transport) encourage residents and tourists to use electric cars.
