The Main Program and the Closing Ceremony

Performances presented by 9 attending schools in the main programme are the main component of the festival Setkání/Encounter. The Organizing team invites theatre and art schools from all over the world with their performances to create a platform for demonstrations of the widest range of theatre techniques and teaching methods. The main programme is closed during a ceremony at the end of the festival. The Closing Ceremony includes the awarding of participants by the festival Jury and the Festival Director. The festival is non-competitive, but it gives away several awards. These are not used to create the rankings of individual productions from the main programme but through awards the most inspirational and inventive artistic achievements of young theatre makers are highlighted. The festival Jury, who hands the awards is set up by four members - theatre experts from Czechia and foreign (included V4) countries. For 32nd edition we add a new programming line into the festival—presenting current and new theatre forms such as new circus, physical theatre or multimedia installations. Special open call is send out to schools in Central Europe to participate. Those performances could be smaller and they won't be judged by the jury. There are 3 performances presented in this new section.
