V4 Academy: Workshop for Kids is designed to introduce the participants to the basics of animation while blending in Eastern culture, through juvenile popular stories.
The event will be held by two professionals acknowledged and recommended by the project partner Brno16 International Film Festival. The workshop will be carried out in two tracks: theoretical and practical. The pupils will get to know the phenomenon of the Czechoslovak school of animation which has been on the rise within the context of world film production, since 1950s.
The set of activities aims to provide a significant environment for intergenerational contact, with mutual benefit for both the participants and the trainers. During a 4-day intensive training, the participants will be immersed into a series of creative processes and practical techniques such as traditional (drawn) animation, stop motion (puppet) animation, cut out animation, or motion tracking.
As the trainers are expected to have access to the newest animation methods, research and development, will succeed in educating pupils through new and improved ways, making concepts such as animation, film culture and Eastern European culture, easier to understand.
