V4 Educational Chess Summit 2023

We will organize a V4 Chess Education Summit hosted by the Global Chess Festival on the second Saturday of October 2023. The Summit would consist of a panel discussion (directed by a moderator) where invited experts from all V4 countries would discuss important issues concerning the implementation of chess in school programs in the region. Proposed topics include: • Lessons learned from the last 10 years of implementing chess education programs (since the EU declaration) • Teaching methods used in each country (ideas, pedagogical tools, methods, teaching materials, etc) • How can successful models be replicated in other countries? • Shared challenges of chess education programs (e.g. chess and pedagogical training issues, funding, promotion, etc) • Technological and digital opportunities • Future collaboration opportunities (how could joint trainings and standards work) The event would be an opportunity for regional experts to meet and discuss both regional challenges and opportunities for cooperation. It would help us introduce the benefits of chess education programs and successful V4 teaching methods to a wider audience – from the Global Chess Festival attendants to online viewers of the event.
