Workshop on safety for investigative journalists

This will be a capacity-building workshop enhancing safe practices and data protection whilst conducting investigative or any other sensitive reporting. Investigative journalists can find themselves in danger due to the political and sensitive nature of their job, which is why it is essential to not underestimate safety measures and to be on top of latest developments in both threats and protection possibilities. The session will be open to anyone interested, be that journalists themselves or other professionals who collaborate with and support investigators, watchdogs etc. This session fulfils the goals of capacity building for investigative and other journalists, exchanging best practices as well as levelling of the playing field for investigative journalists and media experts in the region. Coffee and refreshments for the participants will be provided.
