The Visegrad fund has awarded the "Mini project of the year" award for the first time

The very first Mini Project of the Year award ceremony took place at the premises of the Visegrad Fund in Bratislava. Students and teachers of the Vocational School of Electrical Engineering in Lipník nad Bečvou and the Secondary Vocational School in Žarnovica were invited to receive this special recognition for their outstanding achievement.

The award was presented by Deputy Executive Director Bíborka Molnár-Gábor, together with Katarína Palková, project manager of the winning initiative. The event celebrated not only the success of the project itself, but also the strong spirit of cross-border cooperation and innovation that defines the V4 region.

The winning team, known as the Suncatchers, comes from the project Solar Energy for Teens, which focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration in the field of renewable energy. Through joint work, students from Czechia and Slovakia designed and built innovative solar panel models, combining mechanical construction with programming and technical expertise.

Launched for the first time in 2025, the Mini Project of the Year award highlights exceptional youth-led initiatives supported by the Visegrad Fund. The Suncatchers project stood out in public voting, receiving the highest number of votes among nominated projects and demonstrating the impact of collaborative vocational education.
