Training in Topography and Navigation + Final Game and Workshop
12 people who have been recruited will be trained by Mountain Rescuers Instructors from 3 different countries as part of the plan below. The training will allow the transfer of knowledge in the field of the mountain rescuer's topography and GPS operating. Taining is aimed also to transfer knowledge and exchange experiences between the partners.
At the end of the training there will be game in the field using all information in the training. 6 peple with best results from the game will get prizes.
Day after that will be ceremony of decoration and workshop describing how does Mountain Rescue system works in each country.
Covered topics, 60 hours:
• Using the map and compass
• Walking on the azimuth
• Understanding the types of maps and their specificity
• Basics of tourist service of GPS receivers
• Using Waypoints, traces, vector maps on GPS receivers
• Types of cartographic data as well as the methods of their collection and processing
• Mobile applications for navigation
• Creating your own traces (in various formats) based on satellite images, topographic and tourist maps, and their use in the field
• Calibration of selected rasters (topographic maps, satellite images) so that you can use them in our navigation
• Visualization of the recorded track on the selected map basis in programs (QGis, Google Earth, Garmin BaseCamp) and its interpretation
• Ways of more accurate positioning using GPS
• How to choose a GPS device suitable for your needs
• Field games
• Search for missing people in the field
• Location of missing and wounded
• Data transmission
