V4 ACADEMY | WORKSHOP: FACE AS INTERFACE

Partner: PHOTON FOUNDATION Country: Poland In this workshop, the participants will discover and discuss face tracking, including the history and science face analysis, and its social and cultural implications. After getting a basic orientation in the topic, they will start writing code to use face tracking in real time to control tasks that are usually accomplished with command tools such as keyboards, mouse or other interfaces. The exercises will ultimately provide tools and inspiration for executing a number of interesting individual projects to be presented under the form of interactive audiovisual installations. From the fact that face tracking means detection and possibly recognition, over time, machines follow its movement interpreting it on the way of emotions recognition. Using the visual programming language for creating multimedia works – “Face as Interface” provides this intensive workshop where participants get familiar with the graphical programming with a result of controlling video playback literally with movement of their face. The workshop will be coordinated by experts with vast experience in visual programming languages, ready to present the proper tools to new emerging multimedia artists, as well to the general public with interest in the topic. https://www.facebook.com/events/1340202792814563/
