Training for Tavush region Youth on engagement with LSG

22 September 2019 Capacity Building of Young Activists of Tavush region on engagement in self-governance “Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center are continuing implementation of the project “Young Activist” Young Civic Activists Capacity Building in Social Campaigning. On 22 September 2019 “Free Citizen” CISC organised the workshop for the local youth in the framework of the Project in the city of Dilijan, Tavush region of Armenia. This is the second from the 17 workshops, which are planned to organise in Armenia in the framework of the Project “Young Activist”. The workshops are dedicated to strengthening young civic activists on engagement with local self-governance is as well as raising awareness among participants on the European Union, Council of Europe, Eastern Partnership, Visegrad 4 format. 20 young civic activists from all over Tavush region participated in the workshop. Also the representative from the partner organization During the workshop it was also discussed the following issues, which have been identified by the participants as more relevant for the Youth of their region: • Unemployment even among young people; • Lack of awareness of citizens about funding and technical opportunities on the local level, ignorance of local people about problems and political processes of their city and region; • Low level of youth involvement in local self-governance; • Local economic issues in the context of European integration. Eco-Summit – Narol

The summit will be attended by students from eco-trainings from partner towns. Training and worksops are planned including outdoor workshops. The group of partner cities will have 15 students and 2 teachers. In this way, each student of local eco-training will participate in 2 summits during the project and logistic problems in small towns will be avoided. Guests will have accomodation secured by local students in their homes. Workshops and trainings will take place in local school with participation of experts. There will be outdoor workshops when students will have oportunity to visit essential places which were mentioned in eco-ideas. Summit will be oportunity to strengthen cooperation and for guests to understand problems and solutions (eco-ideas) that hosts will be proposing.
