Artivism – Summer Academy

During the summer, we will organize the summer camp for 14 days for the invited participants. The schedule of the Academy takes the following format: 1 day: Introduction to Artivism and the æffective concept of the world-famous Center for Artistic Activism (https://c4aa.org/). Online participation 3x3 days of introduction into the following topics: - social inclusion led by Husam Abed and Réka Deák, leaders of Dafa Theatre. The aim is to show how storytelling and creating the narratives of local, marginalized groups can strengthen social cohesion and reinforce social acceptance. Gender equality led by Eva Banet Landa and Mart Mardó, representatives of the Spanish-based organization Raices de Coriander. The workshop focuses on how artists can foster women emancipation and empowerment with the tools of creative artivism. Environment led by Ana Isabella Sousa and David Correira from the Portuguese Gato Escalado, focusing on the artistic approach to foster a more sustainable society via activism. Between the three days, we will hold two special workshops, each one day long: - Karolina Bieniek from Art Transparent on how the curatorial approach was able to design artivism at the Survival Art Festival and how it contributed to local change. Selection of artistic approaches, and topics and embedding them in the context of one of the most important festivals of the region. -Marko Popovic, CIKE, on the possibilities of new technologies and digital communities in artivism. Hands-on experience with already existing digital tools and methodologies to be used in social media to create a community around artivism. The overall program of the Artivism Academy is led by Uros Mladenovic, who has already managed several artistic programs.
