Continuity and Change in Medieval Central Europe: Fifth Biennial Conference of Medieval Central Europe Research Network

The Fifth Biennial Conference of MECERN (http://mecern.eu/) will focus on the vexed relationship between continuity and change in medieval history, especially in Central Europe. The multidisciplinary conference will bring together historians, archeologists, art historians, social scientists and scholars from other disciplines interested in the topic. The international scientific conference (27-29 April 2023), with student conference on 26 April 2023, will be open to academics and general public. It will strengthen the connections between academic institutions, individual researchers and students from Central European and neighbouring countries. It is very important to keep viable contact between academic and research institutions from the region. The Fifth Biennial Conference of the Medieval Central Europe Research Network is the only international scientific conference taking place in Visegrad countries that will bring together such a great variety of scholars and lecturers from the region and beyond. The biennial conference organized by MECERN informal network provides excellent opportunity for lively intellectual and cultural exchange of ideas, knowledge transfer and dissemination of research results among the members of the network and general public. The Visegrad Grant would contribute to the organization of another conference in 2023 and to keeping the aforementioned cooperation alive. Besides this grant, we rely on the support of the university and organizers, the contribution of the registration fees by participants. The grant will support dissemination of results and accompanying cultural and educational activities for public and students. https://www.facebook.com/Mecern2023
