In-person Workshop and Script Consultations

Primanima’s workshops have always wanted to present a special corner of animated filmmaking, and this year won’t be an exception as the tutors have prepared a special treat for the participants. Karoline Riha is an interdisciplinary visual artist whose work the elements and media function as navigator between concepts and ideas. They are collaged into loose narration within sets and scenarios. Thomas Renoldner is a professor, film director, film curator, film historian, and musician at the University of Fine Arts in Vienna. He is one of the best-known avant-garde animation creators in contemporary animation film, whose conceptual films won accolades in the most prestigious animation film festivals such as Annecy and Ottawa. His non-narrative experimental films feature a classic, slapstick dramaturgy and editing, pushing the boundaries of image compositions, movement conventions, and temporal rhythms. Through the analysis of historical and contemporary animation and experimental film examples, the workshop sheds light on how to disrupt traditional audiovisual frameworks and question media tools. During the workshop, students will create a video for a piece of music or noise, which can be based on live-action footage and/or traditional or digital animation. During the 4-day workshop participants can have a chance to consult their scripts with the Hungarian screenwriter Zsófia Ruttkay and both of the tutors. http://jumpstart.primanima.hu/

Evaluation

Evaluation event will be held as a result of local actions. It aims to gather participants and evaluate the local actions for 2 days. They will prepare the presentation of their local actions and will present during the evaluation meeting, specifically answering the questions: how it went; what was the challenging part; what kind of obstacles did they face; what kind of support they needed; was it successful; did the project meet objectives; other concerning questions. Participants will brainstorm around the questions, give feedback and improve their knowledge for future local actions. Furthermore, we will invite stakeholders, decision-makers, ministers, EU delegates to attend the event, to debate with youth activists, and improve stakeholder engagement processes. https://csyo-az.org/en/portfolio/youth-on-climate-litigation/
