Human Library: Open Public Event • Přerov

Human Library—Czech Republic

Concept of the Event: A human library is a public event that provides the public (visitors) to meet individually, or in small groups with a person representing an inspiring story (the book). During the talk, the visitor can ask any question to the person representing the book. The book is sharing his/her story. The books are not presented by their names but by the issues that they represent e.g., founder of the first community garden in Skopje, organizer of ecological protects in south Serbia, a woman working on gender equality in Albania. Characteristics of stories share during HL: community engagement, addressing actual issues, respect to intergenerational empowerment (involving books representing different ages). HL are directly responding to the set project objectives and contributing to its implementation by giving the opportunity to the visitors and the books to interact, to establish relationship, to learn from each other on personal level. https://bridgingcommunities.tumblr.com/
