Maths Beyond Limits 2022
Maths Beyond Limits 2022 will be a 12-day-long international mathematical camp for high school students. Its aim is to gather talented maths enthusiasts, create space for their development and facilitate knowledge sharing. Participants will be challenged with interesting and demanding mathematical subjects, and we will help them learn to cooperate, make important habits, think creatively and care about self-development.
The academic part of the camp consists of Mathematical Classes, Camper Talks and special mathematical activities. The last one uses innovative methods of non-formal education, and includes a Mathematical Match, Relays and the Estimathon, which are intensive cooperative games inducing an effective exchange of knowledge.
Non-academic aspects include sport activities which let the participants get some active rest between intellectually challenging workshops and evening activities (run mostly by participants), which is how they contribute to the camp and integrate with other students enhancing cultural exchange between the V4+ countries.
The camp tries to enhance cooperation and integration of European mathematical societies, with a particular focus on V4+ countries, and to ensure equal opportunities in access to non-formal education. It is held in a rural setting, which lets participants take a city break in a peaceful location. On one of the special days an outdoors trip is organised to let participants spend a day together in a non-classroom-like environment.
MBL 2022 will also be attended by the MBL Balkans organising committee who will shadow the organising team in order to learn how to run a camp. They will help with smaller tasks to gain relevant experience before taking a lead during MBL Balkans.
