Citizen Agenda Meetings at Public Libraries

At least 24 topic based meetings/public gatherings are organized in 8 target libraries during 3 months.Librarians host and facilitate young people's and interested local citizens gatherings at the libraries as a space for discussion and development of community agendas. Using the practical knowledge school students acquired during the Winter camp youth teams with the mentorship of their teachers will identify and collect problems affecting their local communities to elaborate the Citizen Agendas - "Voice of people" which will be presented to local authorities for consideration.Youngsters will be encouraged to take photos depicting community problems and organize photos exhibition at local municipal halls. During the meetings refining of the community initiatives will also take place. These events have decisive role in achieving desired objectives as libraries should now serve as a space for mobilizing local citizens around the problems and by developing community agendas and initiatives slow flow of community life should be revitalized. www.civitas.ge

Film school seminars

We want to continue our cooperation with four film schools (3 out of four we cooperate with became our official project partners for 2022 for the first time). We have mutually evaluated the cooperation as beneficial and decided to set our partnership on a new level and make it formal. All the four film schools (in Lodz, Budapest, Bratislava and Prague) intend to include the dok.incubator seminars into their educational plan, to present a practical part to the theory classes and to offer students also school credits for completing the course. The seminars comprise of two online lectures (2 and 4 hours) and in an individual students' work - each student will receive an introduction and explication into the discipline of assessing documentary projects in a rough cut stage - the introductory seminar will present all the aspects that are taken into account when a project is being assessed (either to be selected for a training workshop or even a festival later). Students will get access to four rough cuts and additional information about the production, the creative team behind the project and about the history of development of the projects. The teacher will ask them to prepare their evaluation and written appraisal including pros and cons for selecting or not selecting each project. These assessments will be shared within the class and students will also receive the appraisals of the actual selectors who work with dok.incubator to compare their opinions and points of view. The students will have 2 - 3 weeks to elaborate their work and share it with others before the second online seminar. For the second seminar, we want to combine students from different schools to bring the cross-border experience and to show the differences given by different cultural and social environments and backgrounds. The groups will comprise of approximately 12 students to make sure everyone will get enough time to talk, present their views, and discuss other opinions. The first seminar will take place at the beginning of March and will be common for all the enrolled students from all four schools, the second seminars (two online meetings, the students will be divided evenly into two terms according to their time preferences) will take place in April, the exact dates will be specified once the summer semester program of each school will be ready. Our aim is to: - enhance cooperation between young film students from the Visegrad countries, to help them make contacts for the future - find motivated observers - participants of our workshop without a project who will get the chance to meet many world-established decision-makers (festival selectors, sales agents, broadcasters etc.) - strengthen our cooperation with the film schools and cooperating teachers to see what the new generation of documentary filmmakers is like, what are their priorities, and to learn from them back - offer the students an insight into the international documentary world, to present some of the key players of the industry and show them how the market works to give them an advantage before they will leave the school to create own projects https://dokincubator.net/visegrad-partnership-2022/#.YflVturMKUk
