Exhibition ‘Summer 1920’
The exhibition which will be held in the Museum of Cieszyn Silesia will be the main point of the 100 anniversary of the division of the region—the event which still evokes a lot of disputes and complaints. Since there are different views over this problem, we would like to prepare the exhibition in a Polish–Czech cooperation and show this significant historic event from several points of view; i.e., Polish, Czech, German (and Silesian). The exhibition will show that the problem with establishing borders in this region seemed to be impossible to solve in order to satisfy all the parties, and each of them saw any compromise in a different way. The main purpose is to point out to the facts and clear misunderstandings, but also to present it as a historical event which should no longer effect our reality in any negative way. The educational value of the output should accompany the sense of mutual history and regional identity, all done a visually attractive way.
