Everyday Art

The exhibition and working meeting in Opava. The project A Bridge Over Time. Contemporary Picture of the Past” focuses on the unofficial art scene in Central Europe after 1945. An important element of this scene was the art of action--action art. Revolt was a basic motif of artistic expression in the 1960s and today it is generally referred to as Action Art. In their protests against the communistic government and commercialization of art, artists left galleries and performed various actions in the streets, on alternative premises and in the countryside. In most cases, photo documentation is all that remains of such transient actions. The exhibition "Everyday Art" focuses on the research and presentation of the remains of these exceptional events, which were not only of artistic but also political significance. https://www.kupecko.cz
