V4 Academy for Social Art Practices
Based on its success from last years, we aim to keep the main concept of the Academy training event this year with some changes, creating a more specific regional context. The last years we had 2 weeks, from this year on we divide it to 1 week general approach on social art practices (that is supported by the Erasmus+) and one week regional specific adaptation in Hungary for the Visegrad region, where the participants from the region are involved. The V4 week will focus on practicing the acquired knowledge, work directly with the target group and develop methodologies specifically for the V4 region focusing on a) Youngsters coming from minority background; b) Youngsters with lack of opportunities due to the rural environment; c) Working together with the educational institutions, implementing Social Art Practices in formal education schemes; d) After-school activities
In the previous years, during the 2-week Academy training, participants took part in workshops and learned about the different tools and methodologies offered by the experienced group leaders. These methods include forum theatre, theatre of the oppressed, narrative creation, sensory and image theatre. It successfully improved and widened their skills by gaining experience to work with new educational tools that they can use in their daily work with underprivileged youth. Based on the review of participants, our training is proven to be successful and efficient. Each year, the participants become more and more enthousiast, the community keeps growing, the ties get stronger and stronger between participants and the partner organisations and the impact of the Academy project gets more significant. In order to keep the growth going, we aim to keep the framework of the training described above. However, we aim to add innovative elements to give a new push to growth and better contribute to the change of perception of the addressed issue. Innovative elements compared to last years:
1.Creation of a written methodological toolbox collecting best practices gathered through the years during the Academy training.
