Activities in Poland
Every residency week has a basic schema of activities, detailed below, which we realise in all of the cities. During the planning of the exact calendar with the local partners, we will do research sessions together about the very actual local problems, questions, ongoing dialogues in the community, such as social integration, urban security, cultural education etc. and we will integrate them into our concept.
Our focus of the residency at Brama Theater is on the collaboration with local professionals and on the exchange of experience and mutual learning, which should also result in delivering high quality interactive cultural programs open for all citizens.
1. Performance zen-tai workshop, developed for professional performers as well as non-professional communities. The aim is to help the participants to find new ways of self-expression and interaction by unconventional creative processes. During the last years, we organised this workshop for actors, university students, for people with mental disabilities as well as for groups with physical impairment. This is not the first time to collaborate for a workshop with Brama Theater, we gained work experience with them during the European project "Caravan Next '' and we also realised together in Goleniow a theatre workshop for maximum security prison inmates. The participants will be selected by Brama Theater, through his network with local communities involved in workshops and cultural activities and the session will be led by Alberto Martinez Guinaldo, with the assistance of our team, and local support for translation. The local team of Brama Theater will participate in the organisation, communication and also during the sessions. 2. Urban performative interventions and parade with the involvement of the participants of the zen-tai workshop (public event). The local participants of the workshop will be prepared to realise visually catching interventions and interactive actions, bringing color and artistic experience in the everyday public environment and creating spontaneous connections. All the actions will be inspired by the complexity of personal relations in the urban communities. More information about the Above the Skin project and urban actions on the link above. 3. Performance Artbulance 5.0 (public event). We developed this performance during the Covid-restrictions, to find a way for bringing contemporary theatre art and interaction into the everyday life and urban space of citizens, without exposing them to health risks.
We will invite a max of nine people inside (depending on the current restrictions) or one spectator, a couple or family inside to encounter an online performance with our performers. The spectator is on the stage this time, in the center of the show, and the performer is physically absent, but creates an intimate virtual connection with the spectator through a zoom meeting. The performance is questioning the effect of the pandemic and self distancing on the individual life, the relativity of isolation, only to finish in an unexpected physical meeting. The performance is about 20 minutes long and it goes in loup for 4 hours. We are able to perform it in case of restrictions as there is no indoor contact with the audience, and only few spectators, or close contact spectators are physically present at a time. Apart from the Artbulance 5.0, we will go around with our Artbulance in the city and get in contact with a huge amount of citizens. Our experience from September 2020 is that the “Artbulance phenomenon” went quickly viral in the urban area of Copenhagen and is able to attract considerable attention. (The show itself is in basic English)

4. Performance Art Emergencies (public event). Theatre and opera. Our actor team will pop up in different points of the city with Artbulance: under open windows, in front of cafe terraces, at busy squares or sunny parks, wherever they find their impromptu audience and they will present a 3 minutes long "emergency" theatre action, evoking the most famous recognisable moments of the theatre history, as an immediate art-treatment for mood-lift for anybody. We will also have on board a local opera singer and musician for what we call instead "Opera Emergencies".

5. Coffee-debate. During the last years, in the frame of our projects in Denmark, we regularly organised coffee talks in the different cities with local personalities who has strong influence on the different factors of the community life, such as agents from the educational, cultural, industrial or communal departement, politicians and also someone representing the community itself, the civil layer of families, workers and students. During these events, these participants shared ideas and engaged in dialogues in order to see each other's point of view and to have an opportunity for developing new cooperations and forming collective goals for the community. We would like to renew, as an action of democratism, this tradition during our residencies in the different V4 cities. This time a representative of our local partner will be the host of the event, with a deep inside of the local situation, and our team will assist for the smooth experience. The coffee talk will take place in the Artbulance which can host up to 10 persons in its theatre space.
6. Visit in schools and elderly homes. To reach out for these institutions and bring an out of the ordinary experience into their everyday routine is a regular part of our Kunstpartiet projects. By a previous agreement with the local institutions, our team will make a visit with the Artbulance, helped by local assistance for the translation, and enforced by actors from Brama Theatre, and offer interventions and interactive activities. The content of these actions should be adapted according to the age and conditions of the visited groups, but they will be very dynamic and interactive in nature.
