#NGSprint2021

NGSprint2021 will be a virtual summer school in the form of an extended hackathon with invited speakers. We will recruit 40 participants and split them into small groups. Each group will be assigned a hackathon mentor and a special task. Through lectures, workshops and guided mentoring sessions participants will learn how to and solve the tasks we will present them with. At the end of the event, participants will present their solutions. https://ngschool.eu/ngsprint/
Conference • Pilsen

Power System Engineering Conference

The conference is a means to fulfil the project goals. It will take place on 7–9 September 2021 in Pilsen, Czechia, and will enable the creation of an effective research network of scientists and experts to address the current energy problems in the region. The conference will allow all partners to meet, share experiences and find joint research ideas. Some of them have already had some cooperation in the past, but all the partners across the whole V4 region have never been connected. Majority of partners have never been in contact. After all the partners have presented their research and competences, an internal workshop will be held as part of the conference, where the grantee will present the possibilities of financing future international cooperation within the V4 region (research, education, exchange stays). Brainstorming will then be used to define individual specific projects, including their content, scope, and objectives. https://pse.zcu.cz/

Is there a need for architects in build-to-rent housing?

The topic of the webinar is rental housing and the role of architects and institutions in the development of it. Even though in the years between 1960 and 1990 there had been built thousands of rental properties in Slovakia, the construction in the last three decades has been stagnant and local municipalities´ processes in the field of construction investments are advancing at a very slow pace. What types of architecture service procurements could bring the desired effect? And at last but not least, how the architects´ practice reflects it? How are the architects qualified to react on crucial conditions of social, economic and environmental sustainability in the field of build-to-rent housing policy? Lecturers: Mgr. art. Michal Sládek, PhD.; Mgr. art. Martin Zaiček, PhD.; Mgr. art. Katarína Máčková; Ing. Boris Hrbáň, Mgr. art. Mária Novotná https://autoportret.pl/en/visegrad-fund-project-2021/
