Modern Flow Analysis & Capillary Electrophoresis

Improvement of the hard and practical skills of students and young scientists as well as academic teachers and employees of routine and industrial laboratories (especially R&D and QC departments) from the countries of the Visegrad Group will be achieved through workshops. The workshop will be organized on June 28, 2021 (held on-line due to pandemic restrictions). The workshop called "Modern Flow Analysis & Capillary Electrophoresis - from theory to practice" will be conducted by the best experts in Europe in both of the above fields of chemical analysis. They will present and explain how innovative and original analytical systems using flow analysis and capillary electrophoresis techniques, previously absent in laboratory practice, operate in real laboratory conditions. Particular attention will be paid to the aspects of miniaturization and automation of analytical systems that improve the economic aspects of the analyzes performed. It is planned to organize workshops on three subjects in three on-line sessions (estimated time of 1,5 hour each), participants will interchange. Workshop certificates will be distributed to Participations. In the workshop Particpants will improve the practical skills of chemical analysts and contribute to their better competition on the labor market, especially in the area of implementing new technical solutions. https://v4face.project.uj.edu.pl/

Low Carbon Technologies

The Output no. 1. will be a three-day conference on “Low Carbon Technologies” organized in the Czech Republic. The participants of the conference will be researchers from four V4 countries and addressed representatives from state administration, regions and local municipalities. The project applicant will manage the organization of the conference and all project partners will present the results of currently ongoing projects through scientific publications and presentations. Presentations on the topic of hydrogen technologies, electromobility, smart-grids, biomass torrefaction, its qualitative indicators and combustion tests with additives, modern methods of biomass gasification and pyrolysis with suppressed CO2 production and others are planned for VSB - Technical University of Ostrava. The research team from the University of Žilina will present their own advances in research and technologies of thermochemical conversion of waste and waste biomass into energy products. Members of the research team from the Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal (Zabrze, Poland) will present contributions in the research areas of energy use of biomass and physicochemical methods for purification of energy gas before its use. The researchers from University of Miskolc will present contributions on topic of secondary fuel production from municipal solid waste and utilization of energetic solid wastes. Presentations by private sector companies doing business in the fields of sustainable energy and expert lectures are also planned. In case of a worsening of the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic during the conference, it is possible to hold the conference in full online mode, in which case all costs associated with accommodation and transport will be reduced. https://cenet.vsb.cz/en/departments/technology-centre-of-ostrava/conference/

V4 Symposium : Flow Analysis & Capillary Electrophoresis

The main event of the project will be the titled conference: V4 Symposium "Flow Analysis & Capillary Electrophoresis" FACE2020, which will be held at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow but due to the pandemic restrictions it will be held on-line. During the symposium, representatives of all partners, students, young scientists, academic teachers, invited specialists as well as representatives of routine laboratories and industry will be able to learn about the latest achievements in the field of flow analysis and capillary electrophoresis and exchange their experiences and needs in the field of chemical analysis development in Visegrad macro-region. The symposium will start on June 28, 2021 in the afternoon with the opening session. During the following three symposium days the following activities will be carried out: 1. Lectures (estimated 32 lectures for 30 or 20 minutes with discussion) - delivered by the best experts from partners and other leading specialists; this activity contributes to the desired: exchange of experiences between scientists from various macro-region countries, long-life learning, improving the knowledge of young scientists and students. 2. Oral presentations (estimated 16 presentations, 15 minutes with discussion) - delivered by scientists form partner institutions, representatives of routine laboratories and industry, and possibly other specialists; this activity contributes to the desired: exchange of experiences between scientists from various macro-region countries, long-life learning, improving the knowledge of young scientists and students, improving the soft skills of participants. 3. Poster presentations (estimated 20-30 posters presented during two poster sessions) - delivered by scientific teams from partners institutions, representatives of routine laboratories and industry, other scientific units; this activity contributes to the desired: exchange of experiences between scientists from various macro-region countries, long-life learning, improving the knowledge of young scientists and students, improving the soft skills of participants. 4. Youth session (estimated 13 oral presentations, 15 minutes with discussion) - delivered by students / Ph.D. candidates and young scientists from partners institutions and other research institutions. This activity contributes to the desired: exchange of experiences between scientists from various macro-region countries, long-life learning, improving the knowledge of young scientists and students, improving the soft skills of young scientists, 5. Panel discussion - discussion moderated by the applicant among all participants of the symposium at Symposium end on Thursday, during the discussion the partners will present the state of analytical chemistry (in terms of flow analysis and capillary electrophoresis) in each country of the Visegrad group, the main achievements, limitations and challenges for the future; R&D and QC representatives from industry and routine laboratories will present their expectations and needs in the field of modern chemical analysis; this activity contributes to the desired: exchange of experience between scientists from various macro-region countries, building a platform for joint international projects, defining joint directions for the future, proposals and ideas for new joint scientific, development and didactic projects. The presentations (oral and poster) given by young scientists will be evaluated by a jury which will select the four best presentations to be awarded with prizes; https://v4face.project.uj.edu.pl/
