Dialogue #3 Post Brothers & Sebastian Cichocki

On Tuesday 24th November at 6 p.m., the Pan Tadeusz Museum invites you for a presentation by Sebastian Cichocki, the third event in a series of dialogues with Post Brothers. As part of the film program ‘Hands up!’ Rebellion in V4 cinema, the Pan Tadeusz Museum presents a series of public dialogues addressing the precarious social, ecological, and political conditions of community and cultural production today. The third dialogue features Sebastian Cichocki, the chief curator and head of research at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. In this event, Cichocki will appraise the shifting roles and responsibilities of artists and institutions in times of ecological and sociopolitical crisis. Reflecting on his ongoing consideration of ‘post-artistic practices’, Cichocki will speak about activities that operate at a 1:1 scale with everyday life, deploying artistic tools in other spheres to address urgent needs and fundamental necessities. In recent exhibitions and texts, Cichocki has drawn on historical artistic strategies and conditions to contextualize the present, and has tested how institutions can be responsive to the local and global challenges before us. In dialogue with Post Brothers, the conversation will also look at how the pandemic and an increasingly volatile political climate are affecting art workers, institutions, and the public sphere, and will discuss novel forms of dissent and solidarity developing at different scales and geographies today. https://muzeumpanatadeusza.ossolineum.pl/wydarzenia/rece-do-gory-bunt-w-kinie-krajow-v4/
