Future European Leaders Forum Meeting
This is the main activity of this project, the meeting of future European leaders in the age of 21-30 years in Prague over the course of a five-day period. The participants will arrive on Monday, and this day will be dedicated to travelling and, on the basis of the evaluation from the previous year, also to icebreaking and team building activities and the start of the program, with sessions focused on policy work and digital participatory tools used for driving policy changes. The following days are going to be packed with intense workshops, meetings, icebreaking exercises, discussions and a simulation with the aim to enhance the participants’ social and civic competencies and thus support their active engagement in democratic life and promote their trust in the European project. The second day will start with an icebreaking exercise, followed by several blocks of the program, including a decision-making simulation, policy work and an advocacy workshop. On this day, the participants will also start working on creating their statements and structuring their presentations of their needs and concerns through a joint policy paper related to the European challenges, which will also be produced in cooperation with experienced lecturers. The program of the third day will include participation in democracy events tied to celebrating the 17. November in Czech Republic, and a policy workshop that will help the participants finalize their ideas before the presentations. In the evening, the participants will take part in a networking session tailored to find shared values and collaboratively develop new approaches to topics discussed earlier. The fourth day of the meeting is dedicated to the presentation of the participants’ policy work to the decision makers and a simulation exercise focused on climate challenges. We have learned in the past that the FELF participants are eager to be part of the Prague European Summit as well, and that is why we aim to make this option available to them during the fifth day, when they will also present their work to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic or his deputy. The meeting will culminate and close on the fifth meeting day with a wrap up and evaluation followed by the final networking event, where the participants can meet all the speakers, experts and discussants from the Prague European Summit. The organization FUEN will be presenting a workshop on how to get one’s ideas taken up institutionally by using participatory democracy instruments. V4SDGs will present their activities on how to shape policy and advocate in regard to environmental issues. Social Enterprise Momentum Novum will present their simulation exercise, which is ideal for planning for different outcomes and discussing the future, and a workshop focused on enhancing productivity skills.
