Educational program: workshops and master classes for the Slovak Youth Orchestra

Chamber music master classes held by the V4 String Quartet (Miranda Liu, Daniel Rumler – violin; Tomáš Krejbich – viola; Bartosz Koziak – cello) for members of the Slovak Youth Orchestra. Miranda Liu's experience and expertise as a concertmaster will provide invaluable guidance to the young musicians, offering insights into the expectations, challenges, and nuances of orchestral auditions in Hungary. Through interactive discussions and demonstrations, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the rehearsal dynamics, ensemble playing, and collaborative skills required. The quartet will arrive in Slovakia a few days before the masterclasses and will give PR interviews. Travel, accommodation and honoraria are covered by our budget. With this programme, talented local students in Slovakia will receive the opportunity to learn from musicians from different countries without having to spend their resources on travel and accommodation. Each participant will have the opportunity to perform in front of their peers and receive constructive feedback of the V4 String Quartet. This feedback will help them understand their strengths and areas for improvement. At the end of the master classes, the participants of the master classes will have the opportunity to perform in public at the master classes' closing concert, taking place in the Primacial Palace, Bratislava. By offering these workshops and master classes, we aim to empower and equip the members of the Slovak Youth Orchestra with the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in professional life. We believe that this educational program will not only benefit the individual musicians but also contribute to the overall development and excellence of the Slovak Youth Orchestra. It is our hope that through this initiative, we can inspire and nurture the next generation of talented musicians in Slovakia.
