Holocaust Remembrance Day

We will always remember the tragedy of the 6 million Jews and other victims murdered during the Holocaust. ⁣ It is very important to support various forms of projects among civil society that highlight the consequences of our shared history during the totalitarian regimes.

Eight such projects are currently being implemented under Visegrad Grants:

🔵 Centropa promotes the knowledge about local Jewish history via AudioWalks and fosters civil society dialogue across borders of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus
🔵 Center for Progressive and Reform Judaism increases the awareness of the local communities in Galicia, Silesia and Spiš of the rich cultural Jewish heritage
🔵 Institut Terezínské iniciativy initiates the process of critical thinking about consequences of “anti”-behavior, such as anti-Semitism, anti-Gypsyism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance.
🔵 Rafael Institut z.s. focuses with their project on connecting multidisciplinary specialists interested in research and healing of the transgenerational transmission of Holocaust trauma.
🔵 Secondary school in Grodno, Belarus, opens dialogue between students and their teachers through demonstrating similar tragic fates of Jews in their country.
🔵 Phiren Amenca with their partners strengthen the knowledge of Roma and non-Roma young people about the Roma Holocaust.
🔵 Action and Protection Foundation counters Antisemitism by Improving School Textbooks from a Jewish Perspective
🔵 Terraforming.org trains archivists to identify, promote, make available and safeguard important local Holocaust-related materials
We would like to invite you to follow these initiatives, join their activities and remember and learn from the tragedy of the Holocaust.
