Center for choreographic development SE.S.TA
Chateau Žďár nad Sázavou
Every year Center for choreographic development SE.S.TA (CCHD SE.S.TA) selects approximately fifteen artistic projects which are hosted for a week or individually agreed period of time in the Chateau Žďár nad Sázavou, which provides accommodation, rehearsal spaces for dancing and research and last but not least also opportunities to get in touch with local Czech history (Museum of New generation, The Green hill chapel – UNESCO). Resonating themes are the dialogue between the ecology and development of the urbanism in the region.
Each Residency is accompanied by public presentation of the Work in Progress. The frame of the presentation is chosen by the artists and the goal is to display the context of the artistic research to local communities in dialogue with invited professionals – choreographers, theoreticians, writers, curators.
Each year various international artists come to the Chateau from all around the world, to develop their artistic research. Besides European artists we have hosted already choreographers, musicians, set designers, poets, visual artists from Ghana, Mexico, Korea and Ivory Coast.
