Farewell to our colleague, H. E. Ambassador Irena Krasnická

Today, on 31 August 2018, the Visegrad Fund hosted a farewell reception for our colleague, H. E. Ambassador Irena Krasnická from the Czech Republic.

Ms. Krasnická has been with the Fund for 2 years as Advisor for our Visegrad+ Eastern Partnership (EaP) grant program, currently co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During her time at the Fund, she traveled extensively to Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus to help forge closer ties between the V4 region and the six partner countries in support of the joint EaP initiative of the European Union.

The Visegrad+ EaP program was initiated by the governments of the Visegrad Group countries in 2011. The main aims are facilitating the unique know-how of the Visegrad countries with social and economic transformation, democratization and regional cooperation particularly through the development of civil society and support of cooperation among local governments, universities and citizens in the EaP countries—Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Since the launch of the program in 2012, the Fund awarded more than €12 million to EaP countries in grant projects and scholarships/fellowships for mobility of EaP scholars and public servants to V4 countries, including a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands in the amount of €5 million awarded to the program.
